2022 KYA Elementary Track and Field Program

Knoxville Youth Athletics partner to bring track and field to children with four weekend meets and one championship meet.

Program Registration Opens 3/1

General Info

PRACTICES BEGIN the week of 4/25 dependent on location and will end the week before the Championship (5/22)

MEETS will be on 5/1, 5/15 with the Championships 5/22. Times are estimated to be between 1-5PM.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Online Tutorial / Tutorial Video

This is a new program that will bring a team aspect to track and field with eight teams spread around Knoxville. Teams will be encouraged to practice at least once a week for the 4 week program with 2 regular season meets which will take place the Sundays after Easter Sunday. Then the season will conclude with a championship meet on Sunday May 22nd!

Cost for the program is $40 which will cover a team t-shirt, awards at the meets, coaching, insurance and more.

Team Practices/Locations/Practice Times will be either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday nights at 5 or 5:30 depending on location. If you are not sure if that will work, email us at [email protected]

You should attend the site most convenient for you. If that site is full, and another site is not convenient or available, sign up for free on the waitlist when registering and we will try to get you into a site if spots become available!

Inclement Weather Policy

In case of weather that would create an unsafe environment for kids to participate in the meet management will make a cancellation call no later than 10AM the morning of the meet. We will run in the rain !. The call will be made from the meet site and posted on the TWITTER FEED located on the front page of www.knoxvilleyouthathletics.org You can also pass this along to your parents so they will know – or have them follow us on twitter @KnoxYouthAth. The meet will then be moved the the inclement weather date listed below. If the meet is underway and we are forced to interrupt the meet we will break for 30 minutes during which time teachers and students will seek refuge in their buses or in a designated area inside the school. If after a 30 minute delay inclement weather is still in the area – we will suspend competition for an additional 30 minutes during which all races will be converted to timed finals.
